Confusions

By Alan Ayckbourn

Proscenium presents Confusions by the master of sharply pointed comedy, Alan Ayckbourn. This set of five interlinked one-act plays deal riotously, and perceptively, with human eccentricities and the universal dilemma of loneliness. A mother unable to escape from baby talk, a riotous summer fête, an unsuccessful seduction attempt, a fraught dinner encounter, and a final play about five characters on park benches…

First presented in 1974 in Scarborough, at the heyday of Ayckbourn’s comedy mastery, it toured the UK and then transferred to London’s West End. This production shows that his witty, observant and entertaining writing is just as relevant today as it was 50 years ago.
